In 2007, Duke Undergraduate Eric Mansfield (P'09) traveled around Germany photographing sites associated with the Holocaust. He studied not only the design of the memorial at these sites but the reactions of the visitors. In his three part photo essay he examines memorials at sites of horror -concentration camps-, memorials in everyday life, and planned memorials. His work was supported by a generous grant from the Berlin Project, a research initiative for undergraduates.

This exhibition was sponsored in part by the E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Foundation.
