On display are a sample of popular home medical guides primarily from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Home health guides, often physician authored and approved, provided the common literate person guidelines to prevent illness and injury while offering instructions and remedies. Such works also often covered topic ranging from basic  anatomy to exercises for good health - and much more – often with unique illustrative detail.

This exhibition was sponsored in part by the E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Foundation.
