CELEBRATING 100 YEARS OF GIVING IN THE CAROLINAS WITH THE DUKE ENDOWMENT

Duke University will host a travelling exhibition in Rubenstein Library May 6-31, 2024 to commemorate the anniversary of the Duke Endowment. Visit the online exhibit and the Duke Endowment centennial website to learn more about this momentous time!

On December 11, 2024, The Duke Endowment will mark its centennial anniversary celebrating $4.5 billion in grantmaking across North Carolina and South Carolina in the focus areas of child and family well-being, health care, higher education and rural church, including grants to Duke University. This year, The Duke Endowment will lift up the work of its grantees, coupled with their results from a century of collaboration, discovery and achievement.

Based in Charlotte and established in 1924 by industrialist and philanthropist James B. Duke, The Duke Endowment is a private foundation that strengthens communities in North Carolina and South Carolina by nurturing children, promoting health, educating minds and enriching spirits. Since its founding, it has distributed $4.5 billion in grants. The Endowment shares a name with Duke University and Duke Energy, but all are separate organizations.
