We commit to developing our collections and programs in a spirit of collaboration, transparency, and inclusion.

We will work to balance access for our researchers with appropriate privacy for our donors and others who are represented in the collections.

We believe in providing outstanding service to all library users and seek to make every person feel welcome through our language, behaviors, physical spaces, and systems.

We will interact with colleagues, researchers, students, donors, vendors and others with respect, courtesy, and candor.

We will work with our campus and the larger community to understand and represent the ways that they value and interpret collections.

We will strive to reflect the diversity of our faculty, students, donors, and researchers through our staffing, collecting, and public engagement.

We will take time for self-reflection and evaluation, individually and together, to consider ways to improve past practices and to create a more inclusive library.

We recognize that our staff members grow and develop throughout their careers, and we will provide resources for them to do so.

When possible we will endeavor to implement socially and environmentally sustainable and responsible approaches to all aspects of our work.

We commit to the long term preservation of items in our collections, and will take appropriate steps to conserve the items we steward.
