Before You Arrive

Most of our collections are stored at our off-site repository, called the Library Service Center, so you will need to register as a researcher and request the materials you want to use at least 2 full business days before you visit the Rubenstein Rare Book & Manuscript Library. We will retrieve your materials and hold them in the Rubenstein Library Reading Room.

The Rubenstein Library is located on Duke University's West Campus, alongside the William R. Perkins Library and Bostock Library. You can get to the Rubenstein Library by entering through the tower entrance. Our reading room will is straight ahead, after you pass through the stone foyer.
