Duke University Libraries houses a collection of historical aerial photographs commissioned by the USDA, some of which are available for electronic preview and download. Collections are available for 1955, 1960 and 1966-67. Images are provided as non-georeferenced JPEGs.
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill also houses USDA aerial photography for 1940, 1955 and 1972 for Durham, Orange, Person and Wake counties.
