April 11, 2016 – August 1, 2016
Sponsor(s): University Archives

This single case exhibit in the Sperling Lobby of Rubenstein Library highlights items found in a time capsule of the original Washington Duke Hotel. The time capsule was assembled in 1924 when the building was constructed, and the box was found in the cornerstone in 1975 when the hotel was imploded. Items include letters, notes, brochures, and many artifacts concerning Durham commerce at the time.

This exhibition was sponsored in part by the E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Foundation.
